Shri Shirdi Sai Baba

Sai Baba of shirdi(Born:1836; Dead 1918), spiritual leader dear to Hindu and Muslim devotees throughout India. The name Saibaba is a combination of Sai the persian term holy or saint and Baba is father or sir in Hindi language.
Sai baba taught a moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, charity, inner peace and devotion to god. His teachings combined elements of Hinduism and Islam and tried to achieve communal harmony between these religions. Beyond India baba's movement has spread to other countries such as US and Caribbean.
Sai baba's origin is completely unkown. Baba arrived at the village of Shirdi in Maharashtra, India when he was about 16 yrs old. And lived there until his death. He went to Mahasamadhi(death) on october 15, 1918 at 2:30pm. There is something special about this day that is Hindu's Dassara and Muslim's Muharram came on the same day which is the symbol of unity of religions. Later a mandir called samadhi mandir was built there. Sai Baba mandirs and organisations are present in nearly every Indian city.
