Ganesha a Hindu diety, the elephant-headed son of Shiva and Parvati, is widely worshipped as the supreme god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. He has four hands, elephant's head and a big belly. His vehicle is a tiny mouse. In his hands he carries a rope, an axe, in one hand he carries sweet dessert(Laddo) and another hand exetnded to bless people. His Birthday is celebrated as Ganesh Chavithi(vinayaka Chavithi) in almost all parts of India . Ganesha is a Sanskrit word joining Gana(Group,Multitude), Isha(Lord or Master). Eight Synonyms of Ganesha are: Ganesha, Vinayaka, Vignaraja(removal of obstacles), Dvaimatura(who has two mothers), Ganadhipa, Ekadanta(who has one tusk), Heramba, Lambodara(who has a pot belly), Gajanana(having the face of an Elephant)
